Nathan's Summer Starbucks Drink

Nathan and I went into Starbucks today to get my coffee that I needed so badly. They were giving out samples of their Strawberry Frappuccino's and Nathan wanted some but he couldn't because the sample was made with milk and I told him he was allergic, etc. The lady working there overheard me and said we make them with soy and just leave out the whip. I was thinking great, a strawberry milkshake with soy milk, perfect. She offers to make one on the house for Nathan. I kept asking her if she was sure that it was dairy free - they don't put cream or milk - other then soy and she said "completely dairy free."

Nathan loved it and so did I. No reactions!! I am so happy that he can get something that is somewhat good for him and we can get it Starbucks. He calls it a strawberry shake!!!

Hey Jeanette, I found your blog while search for something about food allergies. Great call on the Starbucks Frap. We'll need to check that out for my son one day.

Sounds tasty :)

Yum!! I used to get those often when dairy was off-limits for me due to nursing Julian when he had a dairy allergy.

Just be careful not to get anything "frothed" bc they stick the soy milk beverages in the same frother as the milk.

Yes, I always ask them to use a new clean one and tell them we have allergies.
