Today he got the seasonal flu shot

Nathan got the seasonal flu shot in 4 doses today. He was poked with a needle 4 times, 20 minutes apart. He had redness at the site and the 3rd injection had a small hive. No big deal. He no other problems. Just a big bill and waste of time.

They were really nice and he had a good time, he walked away with a bunch of toys (2 cars, a ball, coloring book and bubbles) and even a really nice Shrek night light.

I am not sure what we are going to do about the H1N1 vaccine yet, it is so new. Then again I also worry about his viral induced Asthma.

I just found your blog, and may be missing info..but is your guy eg allergic? our little guy was just diagnosed and the first thing the allergist did was to write "NO FLU SHOTS" across his allergy information sheet. But you were able to give your guy the shot? Under what conditions? Your decision or was it recommended? I am very curious...

Thanks - off to read more...

My son is allergic to eggs (and many other food items) - the doctor is holding a special flu clinic for all of her egg allergy - she will do a scratch test first and then if there is no reaction, will inject the vaccine.
