Nathan Needs Snacks

I hear this phase a lot from Nathan's teachers. "Nathan needs snacks." I am out of ideas for snacks. The other children eat string cheese, yogurt, graham crackers, crackers, etc. All items that include dairy and wheat. I try to bring soy yogurt and keep them in the fridge at his school but the teachers never remember them an they expire. So I try to bring non-perishable snacks that they can keep in a bag for him.

I am running out of ideas...he used to eat allergy friendly animal crackers but lately he doesn't want them, I tried the apple cinnamon rice cakes he isn't too fond of those, I send corn puffs and he is tired of those, marshmallows, wheat free pretzels, applesauce, raisins - blah, blah, blah. I am running out of ideas.

If you have some ideas, please leave a comment.
Thanks.

How about something like these:

Sam loves breakfast bars, and although I don't think they're great as a whole breakfast, I think they make great snacks.

I don't see anything in there he's allergic to, but I could be wrong.

Also, what about popping some little bags of popcorn once a week, but finding different flavors to add to them. Like, maybe you could do some kind of butter substitue (is his dairy allergy so bad that he can't have butter?) and then sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on it. Change the flavors each week.

How about a homemade chex mix?
Corn chex, wheat free pretzels, some raisins, and some of the classic flavoring like Worcestershire, salt, and other seasonings.

These are just off the top of my head.

Yes, these are great ideas. I have tried the Glutino apple bars and he didn't like them but maybe I need to add a glaze to them.
He can have dairy free butters for his popcorn.
I just made a cinnamon Chex mix for him with pretzels and raisins.
Thanks for the ideas Mitzi!

How about the Berry flavored Kix? Our little guy loves them.
We also make quite a few thing of these.

For the flour, I just put some oats in the blender and make flour out of those. They turn out great.
Craisins would be a nice change for the raisins.

Have you tried the Enjoy Life products. They make cookies, chocolate chips, bars, granola, etc.

Maren - Thanks for the recipe, I will try it, sounds good.

Maleah -Yes, he only eats their candy bars and Chocolate Chips. He doesn't like the cookies
