Coloring Easter Eggs

Yes my son is allergic to eggs and yes he colored Easter Eggs.

We have been coloring eggs every year, I just feel like coloring eggs is a tradition that I want to do for him. I just don't want him to feel left out.
He never touches the eggs, I do most of it. I put the egg on the spoon and he puts it in the die or take it out and I take it off the spoon. Even though he doesn't do much, he still enjoys it and is proud of his eggs. Since he brought home a stinky hard boiled egg from school he hasn't had any interest in them, he says "mommy, eggs are stinky."

Nathan came home with an Egg.

I really don't understand why this happened. Everyone knows that Nathan is allergic to eggs (severely) and yet he comes home from school with a hard boiled egg. I am so thankful he didn't try to eat it. After asking him about it, he told me he got it from his daycare which was in the morning before school. I just am tired of talking to these providers and switching providers because they just can't follow directions.

Yes, he has colored Easter eggs at home with me but I am right there with him and he never touches the eggs.

The school nurse.

I was volunteering at Nathan's school today and then when we left we had to go through the school office to sign out and the nurse was there - she said "Good-Bye Nathan".  I didn't realized that she knew his name or remembered him. It made me feel good, I am sure she is familiar with him because of all his allergies. I think he has been to her office twice this year. His school is a pretty big school with over 500 kids and grades 4k to 4th grade.

School sent us an invoice for milk.

Nathan has been in 4k since September at a public school. They have snack time and all the kids have milk except for Nathan, I send juice for him.

A few days ago I got an invoice from the school stating we owe $8 for the milk for the school year. I am not paying for milk that my son isn't drinking and why would I pay for something that could kill my child? (That is what I wanted to say on the phone, when I called). I got their voice mail and I simply stated he was severely allergic to milk,  he hasn't drank the milk and he will not be drinking the milk. They never called me back. I am sure it was a mistake, they must assume all the kids get milk at snack time.

The Chocolate Easter Bunny

The Easter bunny AKA Mom (me) just ordered a chocolate bunny for Nathan for his Easter basket. I was really happy to know that Divvies  has chocolate Easter bunnies that are Dairy and Peanut free. This is so wonderful  because Nathan really loves chocolate and with all his food allergies, I can't just walk into a store and buy him a chocolate bunny. He will have some normalcies in his life and the Easter bunny can't wait for Easter. Thank You Divvies!!

And at Nathan's daycare one of the teachers has a daughter who is 13 and has dairy allergies and really didn't know about the dairy free chocolates available for dairy allergies. I gave her the link to Divvies and Enjoy Life ( our favorite chocolate bars) she was so grateful for the information and I am happy that her daughter can enjoy some chocolate.

I Ate Peanuts.

Today is opening day for baseball and baseball and peanuts go together. At the office we like to celebrate with food, no one in my department has any allergies or intolerances, so I brought shelled "Brewer" peanuts. We all loved them and I don't eat them at home because of my son's peanut allergy. They were good, but made me feel so guilty for even having the bag open and peanut shells all over my desk.
